I
was born to be a peacemaker. I personally understand
that world peace begins in the individual heart and
ripples outward. It is my intention to be loving
peace as I live every moment with a peaceful heart.
I have primarily learned
to live peace through a daily spiritual practice of
connectedness. The ability to connect to Divine Essence
invites the emergence of authentic expression. I believe
that every connected human can emerge as a powerful
force in the world. Part of this process involves individuals
willing to balance and express inherent divine feminine
and divine masculine energies. When feminine qualities
are accepted with equal measure, humanity will feed
all the hungry peoples of the world, encourage self-responsibility,
and live in harmony with each other and this precious
planet.
Currently, after retiring
from thirty plus years as a healthcare professional,
I am honored to serve as a Minister of Peace ordained
by The
Beloved Community. It is a true joy to help coordinate
and conduct The Art of Spiritual Peacemaking
Sacred Circles.
In July, 2007 I completed
a PhD in Philosophy focused on Intercultural
Peacemaking. I feel prepared to assist others
who wish to successfully pass the baton on to future
generations who will require peaceful conflict resolution
on the planet.
Beloved Community
Alabama was founded in 2006 as a non profit
vehicle that supports experiential education and intercultural
peace efforts. The experiential aspects are multi-faceted
and usually involve groups meeting in a facilitated
and focused circle.
I currently serve as co-director with Reverend David
Leonard with Essential Self Ministries.
Our work involves experiential New Thought training
for those ready to offer unique individual service to
the world through authentic Essential Self connectedness.
I consult with and
serve a variety of roles in the local Interfaith Mission
Service (www.interfaithmissionservice.org).
Primarily, I organize the planning and execution of
an annual Heart to Heart Progressive Hometown
Pilgrimage. Another passion is facilitating
great conversations in programs for Interfaith Dialogue
and One Huntsville. Reverend Frank Broyles and I co-facilitate
an annual multicultural, multi-faith celebration of
Community Unity near September 11th each year.
For my own spiritual
nourishment, I enjoy reading both contemporary and ancient
spiritual writings. A true passion is claiming the experiential
process of spiritual pilgrimage. This is enjoyable both
in solitary silence and with boisterous groups traveling
internationally. I gain understanding and acceptance
of other traditions, cultures, customs and rituals through
first hand experience. The resulting insights strengthen
my ability to heal and release previously hidden personal
prejudices. Subsequently, I am able to effectively assist
others accordingly.
A more minor
role of my personal ministry allows excursions into
the joyful world of LuvBucket the Clown as an alter
ego. LuvBucket and I have written a story called Little
Buckets Full of Big Love currently pending
publication as a children’s story book.
